CLASS DESCRIPTION/DETAILS::

Latin Dance Conditioning Class with emphasis on technique, musicality and style. Taught by Maria-guajira (Stiletto Dance Co)

LATIN CONDITIONING Overview

Foundations of Latin Movement. You will learn On 1, On 2, Cha Cha Cha and Afro Cuban, all with the aid of some useful and complementary tools from Ballet, Jazz, Funk, and Flamenco.

Topics include:

-Essentials of hips, torso, arms, shoulders, and footwork
-Variations of the those fundamentals
-Layering movement
-Using movement to highlight musical theme
-Best time and how to style during partner work
-How to most effectively connect with your lead/ your follow
-Balance and Spin technique
-Staying connected to your lead while reacting with lighting- fast reflexes
-Be the lightest follow on the dance floor and the smoothest lead

Drop-In anytime. However, the class will evolve over each month, so we may build on concepts from previous classes. Topics will shift each month. The format will be warm- up, drills, and a pattern to finish the class.

Bring jazz shoes and Latin heels. Beginners Welcome!
